James Durbin is in it to win it, predicts Randy Jackson

Following tonight's American Idol Season 10 performance where the top 6 finalists belted out songs from singer/songwriter Carole King's catalogue, Idol judge and music producer Randy Jackson went on to predict that rocker James Durbin may be the new American Idol. "This guy just might win the whole thing!" and went on to hug the Idol contestant. The 21-year-old San Franciscan rendered "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" popularized by The Shirelles and written by Carole King with her former husband, Gerry Goffin, in their teens.

James' performance was lauded both by the other two Idol Judges. "It was magical. You're the star of the night" said Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler agreed, "It was beautiful." Throughout the competition, even since the beginning of the Top 13, James has been consistent with his performances, even likened to Idol alumnus Adam Lambert with their style of singing, and James was never in the bottom three.

Cee Lo's costume designer for new music video is Filipino

Cee Lo Green who made a massive hit song out of "Forget You" has chosen a top Filipino designer to custom-made his flamboyant costumes for his soon to be released music video "I Want You." The top Filipino designer who was named "Designer of the Week" at Los Angeles' Fashion Week El Paseo Palm Springs held last March is no other than Oliver Tolentino.

Oliver reportedly made two outfits for Cee Lo Green, dubbed as The Male Lady Gaga: a robin egg blue suit embellished with embroidery and Swarovski crystals with a furry’ overcoat made of Philippine raw silk cocoon from Aklan and a bright red suit embellished with gold embroidery, beads, and Swarovski crystals with a Liberace-inspired cape of peacock fabric and gold embroidery as reported by ABS-CBN. The clothes were made in the Philippines.

"Hello, Manila!" says Justin Bieber to Malaysian fans

International music and YouTube sensation Justin Bieber made a brouhaha in his concert staged at Stadium Merdeka Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia last April 21st when he allegedly uttered "Hello, Manila!" wrongfully greeting the Malaysian crowd. Although there were no additional information on the reaction of the Malaysian crowd on the night of the concert, his blunder was not made to pass on popular microblogging site Twitter.

It may seem that the 16-year-old "Baby" singer is keen to perform for his Filipino audience as he is set to stage a one-night only concert in Manila slated on May 10.

OPM artists sing to men in uniform

Original Pilipino Music (OPM) artists will be giving free concerts to the men of the Armed Forces of the Philippines to boost their morale after a series of scandals on the alleged misuse and abuse of funds by certain officials rocked the AFP.

The undertaking is spearheaded by Ogie Alcasid, president of the Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM). Noel Cabangon, Cookie Chua and Mitch Valdes will also join Mr. Alcasid as they stage a concert at Camp Aguinaldo, the AFP headquarters, on April 27.

Mr. Big at the Big Dome on May 10, 2011

'80s hard rockers Eric Martin (vocals), Paul Gilbert (guitar), Billy Sheehan (bass), and Pat Torpey (drums) will be having a concert at the Araneta Coliseum on May 10, 2011 in support of their new album, "What If...", their first after 10 years. Martin, Gilbert, Sheehan, and Torpey collectively are called Mr. Big.

Mr. Big is notable for their 1991 number one single "To be with you" and 1993 Billboard Hot 100 Hit "Wild World" among others. Ticket prices are as follows and gates open at 8:00 pm. Tickets can be bought at TicketNet.

The Script Performs Live at the Big Dome Tonight

Irish alternative rock band The Script is in the country and will be performing tonight at the Araneta Coliseum. The band is made up of frontman Danny O'Donoghue, guitarist Mark Sheehan, and drummer Glen Power.

The Script is responsible for CHR hits "The Man Who Can't Be Moved," "Breakeven," "Before the Worst," "Nothing," and their current single and radio staple "If You Ever Come Back."

Filipino-Puerto Rican Bruno Mars gets 11 noms at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards

Filipino-Puerto Rican Peter Gene Hernandez, popularly known as Bruno Mars, gets a buzzworthy 11 nominations at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards to be aired on US channel ABC on May 22, 2011. The 25-year-old singer-songwriter made a Billboard number one hit out of "Just the Way You Are," a song that gave him his first Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performace last February 13, 2011.

Charice collabs with Bruno Mars for Before It Explodes

Filipina international singing and YouTube sensation Charice Pempengco collaborates with half-Filipino Bruno Mars for the former's latest offering, Before It Explodes.

Before It Explodes will be released as Charice's carrier single on April 18 at Amazon and then iTunes. Louder is another song that the Filipina singer will be releasing this May.

It's worth to note that Before It Explodes was first sang by Alexandra Burke, fifth winner of the British reality TV series X Factor.
